Marriage & Individual Therapy
Why suffer any longer? I offer the most advanced treatments strategies to help you lead a happier and healthier life quickly.
As a marriage therapist, I have helped hundreds of Orthodox couples resolve complex emotional issues and achieve the happiness and closeness they are both longing for.
My warm and empathetic approach to counseling, is guided by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy founded by Dr. Sue Johnson - one the most successful and scientifically valid forms of marital therapy in the world (see www.iceeft.org) - and by my sensitivity to the unique religious and cultural issues facing Orthodox couples.
I also specialize in working with couples who may have narcissistic tendencies and are resistant to tradition therapy. I help them by exploring their "schemas" or early childhood patterns of possible neglect/abuse/abandonment and help them learn new skills to experiences emotional and physical intimacy with their spouses.
My therapy provides quick and effective support and guidance for couples dealing with problems in communication, attachment and intimacy.
If you are struggling with Depression or Anxiety, I can help. Using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Logotherapy, and my spiritually-focused Thinking Good © approach, I have helped thousands of individuals reduce their symptoms of depression or anxiety, and find more meaning and pleasure in their lives.
If you have OCD, I have trained with Dr. Jonathan Grayson, a national expert of using ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) for treating OCD and have helped hundreds of individuals reduce their symptoms and live more productive lives.
EMDR for Trauma
For individuals who have experienced sexual, physical trauma, or emotional trauma, I am a trained EMDR Therapist and a member of www.edmria.org International Association.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a powerful new psychotherapy technique which has been very successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, panic, disturbing memories, post traumatic stress and many other emotional problems.
Until recently, these conditions were difficult and time-consuming to treat. EMDR is considered a breakthrough therapy because of its simplicity and the fact that it can bring quick and lasting relief for most types of emotional distress.
Viktor Frankl Logotherapy
Amidst the horrors of Auschwitz, a daring Jewish psychiatrist revealed one of the two secrets to overcoming depression and anxiety. Viktor Frankl, the founder of Logotherapy (the therapy of meaning) found that "those who knew that there was a task waiting for them to fulfill were most apt to survive the concentration camps."
Frankl was not just referring to those interned in the camps or held captive as prisoners of war. He was offering a path forward for all people facing challenges -- whether physical or emotional -- to look beyond the limits of self and into the world of meaning and spirituality.
If you are suffering from depression or anxiety due to a lack of meaning, I offer a Torah-based form of Logotherapy that has helped countless individuals experience greater meaning and happiness in their lives.
